What is Learning Societies?
Launched on May 13th, 2010, Learning Societies is a social networking community for radically innovative business people who sense that emerging, global factors are demanding that we practice business in a more holistic and responsible way. Based on our core principles the purpose of this community is to:
- Connect radically innovative business minds who want to play a role in evolving business thinking, from the inside out, to a more intensely creative, holistic, collaborative and sustainable practice.
- Facilitate Authentic Networking*, where openness and quality of interaction provide a more trusted group of contacts who embrace similar business values.
- Provide a Collective Learning space that is continuous, inspirational and evolutionary.
*Authentic networking
Authentic networking simply means that you allow your most genuine, honest self to represent you when networking with others. There is no need to posture, impress anyone, or sell yourself. Simply allowing your true side to show will build all the credibility you need. It also builds trust, which is the critical factor in effective networking.
How does Learning Societies work?
If you are interested in joining the community of radically innovative business minds, then this is the place for you! You will first want to sign up as a member. Don’t worry, it’s free. Tell us where you are from, what you do for a living, your interests, personal ethos (the words or values you live by) and upload a picture of yourself. Once this is done, you can make use of the following functions:

Browse, meet and connect with other members. Now that you have joined our growing list of participants, you can begin the ripple process!
Join Groups
You can also join groups in your area so that you can begin meeting some of these radical innovators in person. Or, if you would like to start your own group, invite others to join, and contribute to the evolutionary shift in business thinking in your area, then go for it! Through this site it’s easy.
Blog
The Learning Societies blog is open source and therefore completely open to all registered users. It is also managed by our members! Here, members can post anything they think is interesting, inspirational or educational, whether it be videos, media etc. All you have to do is click on the following link, write in the same user name and password that you have for Learning Societies, and you´ll have full access to our blog!
